VIII. Herbalism and Traditional Medicine Division

TVTU recognizes the importance of herbalism and traditional medicine as integral components of tribal culture and holistic health. To preserve and transmit this valuable knowledge, TVTU will establish a dedicated division within the curriculum: Herbalism and Traditional Medicine:  Herbal Remedies: Courses covering the identification, cultivation, and preparation of traditional medicinal plants used in tribal healing practices.

1. Healing Traditions: Exploring the history and cultural significance of traditional healing practices within the Trubian community.

2. Holistic Wellness: Teaching students about the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and spiritual health within the context of traditional medicine.

3. Practical Application: Hands-on training in the preparation and administration of herbal remedies under the guidance of knowledgeable elders and practitioners. By incorporating herbalism and traditional medicine into the curriculum, TVTU aims to ensure that students not only acquire academic knowledge but also a deep understanding of their cultural heritage and the practical skills necessary to promote well-being within the community.

IX. Integration with Other Divisions

The Herbalism and Traditional Medicine Division will collaborate with existing divisions, such as Agriculture and General Education, to create a comprehensive and well-rounded educational experience. For example, students may learn about the cultivation of medicinal herbs in the Agriculture Division and the scientific aspects of traditional remedies in the General Education Division.

X. Community Partnerships

TVTU will actively seek partnerships with local herbalists, traditional healers, and healthcare practitioners from the Trubian community. These partnerships will provide students with opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and hands-on experiences in herbalism and traditional medicine.

XI. Cultural Preservation

By including herbalism and traditional medicine in the curriculum, TVTU will contribute to the preservation of Trubian cultural heritage. Students will not only gain knowledge but also become ambassadors for these traditional practices, ensuring their continuation for generations to come.
