AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION ADOPTED BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES
AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION ADOPTED BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES FEBRUARY 22, 2021 RESOLUTION RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments to endorse and implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; and FURTHER RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges Congress to enact legislation that includes: a) the preparation and implementation of an action plan to achieve the objectives of the Declaration, including ensuring the laws of the United States are consistent with the Declaration, conducted in consultation and cooperation with the indigenous peoples of the United States, and b) the preparation and delivery of an annual report to Congress on the progress that has been made towards implementing the measures and achieving the goals in the action plan
